InShape launches it latest Health Club at the Greerton Aquatic & Leisure Centre in New Zealand!!

The new InShape Health Club at Greerton Aquatic & Leisure Centre opens its doors on February 11, ushering in the freshest fitness environment in the Bay.

Under the management of Keith Martin, the Greerton health club now provides a full range of new equipment in just completed, air-conditioned rooms above the swimming pool complex in Kiteroa St.

“Everything is new – the rooms and the equipment – but our main emphasis is on creating a new personalised approach to fitness for everyone who joins us,” says Keith.

“From the initial assessment, we will keep our members’ training programmes fresh and effective. That’s a promise.”

All members receive an initial assessment that can include weight and height measurements, body mass index and body fat percentage readings, along with a fitness appraisal.

“We have a six-star service promise for our members,” explains Keith.

“It’s our 6-star service, which is also adhered to at our sister health club at Baywave. “We aim to get everything right in the first 30 days – that’s when the training habit is formed. Our training programme must suit our members’ needs; then they will more likely continue their programme.”

New members are shown around the facilities, and this is followed up by a phone call and a one-hour goal session to create the precise programme for each member. “From that, a realistic programme is prepared to meet each client’s goals. There’s no set programme.”

Membership also includes free use of the three swimming pools at Greerton, and the aqua aerobics classes.

“We then take a snapshot two weeks later to review each member’s progress, followed by a half-hour appointment to go through the programme again. After eight weeks, or on request, the programmes are reassessed. “The body gets into a routine, but when it has to adapt to change, that’s when you tend to make the most progress toward your goals.”

Keith is recruiting his team at present, looking for qualified trainers who have specialist skills, such as weight loss or strength training. He joins from Baywave, bringing with him his BA degree in management, specialising in sports and leisure. He is a qualified personal trainer and a qualified group fitness instructor.

“This is a community facility in the middle of Greerton. We want it to complement the community, and we are aiming for a large local membership. We want to create a friendly, comfortable feel.” The health club has new Life Fitness circuit equipment, a free weights area and new resistance equipment.

Its new cardio equipment includes treadmills, cross trainers, bikes and rowers. All have high-tech readouts. There is also pin-loaded weight training equipment.

The InShape Health Club is open from Monday to Friday, 6am to 8pm, and 9am to noon on Saturday and Sunday to start with, reviewed as required to match demand. The aqua aerobics classes start at 9:30am and 7pm.
